Race, NOT "Road"!

This is lightest bike I've built for a good while - and not what I'd call a road bike.

8kgs - DA cranks and b/b, Ultegra shifters (thanks Steve928!) and mechs, Aksiums (thanks Neil!) so suppose could shed maybe 1.5 of that with lighter wheels, bars, post/saddle. And Timet frames not lightest titanium but reckoned pretty good a few years ago.

Pity I don't race....should fetch me enough to buy a Brompton in a month or so!

Pretty though IMO.

  • you'll shed a bit more by chopping the excess steerer above the stem off.
saddle looks pretty heavy, get a spesh toupe they rule and are light.

don't like the pedals btw, do you not use clipless?

"you'll shed a bit more by chopping the excess steerer above the stem off."

Yes, but only a tiny bit and limit the potential buyers!

    "saddle looks pretty heavy,"

But it's comfy - and spending money on a saddle will not increase likely selling price!

"don't like the pedals btw, do you not use clipless?"

Finest pedals money can buy - with toe clips! No, I do NOT use clipless.

As you'll have guessed I'm not keeping it. Any bike without 'grds is of no real use to me. Nor is a 53/39 race set up. And I don't really like drop bars. Thought I'd use it a couple of fine days over next month or so but family commitments and holidays mean that even that very unlikely - it's on Classifieds and will be off to th'bay as soon as I have time.
