Got a grand to spend on a new susser (really cant afford more than this!) . Following have been recommended, anyone can shed some light on which to buy. Ride mostly trail with some xc. 6'3" and 14 stone.

- FSR XC Comp
- Cannondale Prophet 3
- Kona four

Cheers :D

the prophet recently beat the fsr and got a 10 out of 10 in a bike test in one of the mags. looks to be a superb bike and if i was in the market for a 1000 quid fs, tht would prob be my choice.

the fsr got 9/10 and is still considered a top notch bike for the money.

the prophet is more "all mountain" whihc means longer travel and is designed for more hardcore type stuff but is stil a cpable xc machine (although will be heavy). the fsr is an actual xc bike with 100mm travel at both ends.

so figure out if you want a hardcore or an xc bike and decide accordingly

just read the article i refferred to in my last post and realised the fsr and prophet are almost identical weights so again, my choice purely on the reviews i have read, would be the prophet
