Thunderbirds... oh sorry, wrong thread.
Seriously, Zulu. It was the first film my late father took me to see when I was about 7 or 8 years old (if that). I now have it on DVD and I think I may watch it again tonight.

Being an ex paratroop officer, The Longest Day and A Bridge Too Far have their moments, although my softer side quite enjoys Brief Encounter.
Am I allowed to mention The Italian Job?0 -

Totally fictional war film, but Where Eagles Dare does it for me!!

Another for Downfall, Bruno Ganz is incredible. His depiction of Hitler with generous and very humane atributes make the disgusting monster he was all the more terrifying.
I normally don't watch foreign language films but this one is well worth it.0 -
Above us the Waves. Standing on the deck of the Tirpitz being interrogated after having been captured and knowing that the explosives you planted are about to go off with an enormous BANG and saying "Ah dont be like that" with a stiff upper lip when threatened by a large German had a huge influence on what I believed war to be like as a kid. So Dad, when do we teach the Bosch how to play Cricket then?
Das Boot, Der Untergang, Tora Tora Tora and of course the Battle of Britain are all top films that are on my list too.
Spoof of Der Untergang, Hitler is a Sheff Wed fan and they are relegated 8)

Das Boot still oozes quality and I find myself laughing at Donald Sutherland in Kelly's Heroes no matter how many times I watch them.0
