Will it Fit

I'm coming to the UK for a couple of days before the Etape and need to hire a car. I'll have my bike box with me and leaving it in left luggage is not an option.

Looking at the Hertz site, the Alfa Brera took my fancy, however I'm not sure if my bike box will fit in it. The Alfa website isn't much help either. Any body know if the box will fit in? It's a standard size hard shell, rectangular box.

If I can't go with the Alfa the next alternative is a Golf GTI. (i drive a crappy Daihatsu Terios over here and want something nice for a few days)

I got a bike box inside a ford ka! So can't see it being that much of an issue!

You might if you fold the rear seats down, but that raises security issues. The boot is only 300 litres and although it can apparently take a set of golf clubs looking at the picture on this site I'm not sure a bike box would go:

I've looked into buying a Brera and bike compatibility was pretty high on my list

With the rear seats lowered (which is a standard feature) it will take a bike box. You'd have to lower the rear seats to fit the box in a Golf as well, so don't see the issue with security.
