It seems like just about everyone has been on the tarmac so far. Stage 9 has just started, so who do you reckon will be rubbing on the Savlon by this evening?!

I've just watched the RAI pre-race programme. Poor old Soler is in a right mess, coveraged in patches and bandages.

Cantador looked shattered after yesterdays stage so I hope he gets an easier ride today and doesn't have to spend energy getting back into the peleton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'd almost think Cyclechat had crashed or something!
It's almost like the old days of C+ crashing...0 -
130km left and nobody's off yet!
Maybe next year the Giro could be sponsored by Dettol - that's what I use for getting the grit out...Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0 -
Don't know about falling off, but is the bell tolling for Andreas Kloeden?
Seems to go back to the old Telekom days, but my Norwegian is non-existent.
Who else from the T Mobile class of 2006 is still riding? :?
and so much for the 2007 "clean team".

Which one?
The couple in love with eachother, or Bjarne Riis, in love with himself?
Other than 57 positives, I haven't a clue what it says!"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

It's a little-known fact that Right Said Fred performed live at the 1998 Tour de France. This photo was taken just as they walked past with their shirts off....

Vlad Karpets was another being touted to do well but has been very quiet so far, not even heard of him having an off.0

I'm fluent (honest)! What do you want to know? :PI get knocked down . . . but I get up again . . .0 -
Just the gist of what is being said about the 57 positives.
It is in Norwegean isn't it?
Savini and Fernandez bite the dust. Pfannberger and Capelli down, but are they out?
Another day in the Battle of the Somme.
Oh and Cavendish waving the finger of blame at another Navigare rider.
Not hard to tell when he loses...."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -
Had to LOL at Cavendish wildly pointing at someone who got in his way. One of those pesky non-sprinters, no doubt.0

In a nutshell: :P
In future, the clinic in Freiburg will only work with the cycling federations which they believe exercise reputable anti-doping policies.
Hans-Hermann Dickhuth, the clinic director, and his colleagues, have discovered as many as 57 positive tests from the original German T-Mobile/Telekom teams going back many years. Five doctors are currently being investigated for having been involved with supplying substances to certain riders.
'I had no idea how much criminal energy was being put into this system. Now I know that some of my colleagues were witholding information from me,' he said to Stuttgarter Zeitung, according to feltet.dk.
The director continues to say that the mafia-like system would have put a number of doctors such as T-Mobile's former team doctors Andreas Schmid and Lothar Heinrich, under extreme pressure with threats of blackmail, amongst other things.
'They couldn't just disappear from the system without losing their existence,' Hans-Hermann Dickhuth said, but didn't say if any of Jan Ullrich's tests had been positive.I get knocked down . . . but I get up again . . .0 -

Indeed. I laughed at that too. At first I thought I imaged it, but nope.

Thanks for that Dayvo.
It's interesting, but I don't think Kloeden will be experiencing a "Rasmussen moment". At least, not during this Giro. Maybe Bruyneel may have to think about quietly dispensing with his services, if any real dirt surfaces. Doubtful though, if they can't put names to the positives.
A Navigare rider upset both Cavendash  and Bennati. He bumped and bored his way into the train. Had a go with Wiggins at about 300 metres and exchanged punches with Bennati, at 25 metres.........after the finish!
Mr Dash seemed more interested in wagging his finger at him, than sprinting.
Plain fact was High Road used rubbish tactics. No sprint train can last 7kms."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

Cavendish needs to learn some good roadcraft - when he got his stage win he did well, patiently waiting for his chance, but then the group he was sprinting from was depleted by the crash. I would have liked to see Bettini get a stage win on home territory and hope he has another chance - on the road he has brought a lot of credit to the Rainbow jersey.
The stage was dedicated to Gino Bartali - as well as a great rider, he was an extraordinary man who risked much to help smuggle Italian Jews out of the country in WWII. He deserves to be remembered as much for his exploits off the bike as on it.0 -

Did anyone notice that Mick Rogers is starting to compete again today? It seems he's recovered from his illness.
