my heavly upgraded cannondale prophet 4 has just been stolen and i'm wondering what to replace it with . I'm considering another prophet (mk3) but its spec looks mediocre compared to my old rig with the exception of the forks (pike 454 against the 4's 426) . Its crankset is a breakable stylo compared to my 08 XTS . Uses juicy 5s against my sevens. The thing uses rp2 instead of rp23s and its fsa handlebars are very very thick, heavy, short and ugly against my old carbon ones.
Should I give a spesh like a stumpy or enduro a chance despite the frames nasty looking weld joints but better specs?

those other ones i have already researched and i've found alot of drawbacks such as no shock lockout or indequate travel to my pricepoints . Not to mention the kona dawg's construction is really questionable for an enduro. The mk 2 prophet has a good fork and a good frame but its other bits are very off putting compared to what my original prophet had . The enduro has a better travel tolerence and reasonable spec but is its unique front is gonna be a b**** to modify the stem, handlebar, fork and headsets? and the stumpy pitch has better expansion frame spec but it is supplied with a low spec pike (351) fork and brakes
I'm going to put a deposit on my first 500 pounds to evans this week . hopefully I'll end up with something that is long travel and well specced for june/julySpecialized Camber

I'm sure the Enduro is a great bike, but personally I really wouldn't want a bike with proprietary suspension. Far too limiting and I really question the supposed benefits. What about the Cannondale Rize or Commencal Meta 5? Everyone seems to love the Meta. Trek Remedy? Not seen/ridden one myself but it's had excellent write ups. Plenty of options to be honest.0

the Commencal Meta 5 and Trek Remedy seem to be very pricey compared to how much i'm willing to cough up £1400 to £1500. plus they use XT groupset for gears whivh i have sworn off after using x9 for a year and the rize dosen't have a good travel tolerence compared to my prophet 130 against 140
So am i right to say the enduro would be maintenance nightmare if the fork/headset/stem/ bar fails?
I really do miss my old rig. May she crackenfail whatever chav nicked her :evil:Specialized Camber
