Geoff's home made bike spec - any comments on upgrades?

Hi All,

Built this last week out of a Specialized Rockhopper I bought for £130 from a secondhand store (Used the bike for 2 years as a commuter, then made a proper commuter with an Ambrosio racing frame and parts from the old Specialized Rockhopper - groupset and flat bar!)

Anyhow:

Specialized Rockhopper frame - re-sprayed in black (did a pro job and then dropped the frame on the floor!)
Manitou Axel forks - on original bike
Sun Mk4 wheels - on original bike
Shimano Deore LX full disk brakes front and rear - new
Shimano XT front mech - new
Shimano XT rear mech - new
Easton EA50 flat bar - new
Powerplay Stem - new
Shimano LX dual controls - new
Shimano F440 chainset + square taper BB - new
Tyres - whatever I had in the shed!

When I say new - I mean, from ebay or a bargain bin (XT mechs were £15 each from a bargain bin!)! have refurbed and coppaslipped everything when I built it. Seems to work fine! Weighs in at 11 Kg.

What should I upgrade - I am thinking Forks!

The tyres are new - I think they are Maxxis. Never used them.

yeah new forks...some cheap rebas from merlin if they're still doing them

Tyres, forks - and that's it. Everything else is just dandy.
