Confused about going tubeless

Hi, I've just got a new bike which came with a set of XT WH-M775 tubeless ready wheels.
I am currently running tubes but want to go tubeless for as little cost and weight possible.
Can I just fit a valve to the rim and put some latex sealant in and then run the standard tyres that came with the bike or do i have to put the rim tapes in.....
Any help would be good.
Cheers

Some good advice on this site.

Suggests you will need a rim strip to make inflation easier and prevent air loss if the tyre sidewall deforms under load.
Not all normal tyres work well with a tubless setup.
Advice on which do is here.

So depending on what your current tyres are it may be a case of sealent, valve and rim strip or if you're unlucky new tyres. I've just put a set of Maxxis Ignitor 2.1s LUST on those wheels and despite me being a complete tubeless nube they seem to have gone on very easily (despite me not seating them properly first time  )It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0
