Looks good value for the price, although frame quality is unknown.

  • I've has a look at them and they are not bad bikes for the money, the frames proberbly come of the same production line as many others anyway. decent spec level for the price. give it a try and let us know what you think.

Merida one of the biggest frame manufacturers in the world, with SOTA facilities.

Bike looks good value, with the money spent in the right places: Frame, fork, wheels and brakes. Good weight too. Only drivetrain lets it down, but thats nit picking. Test one.

Did a short test ride yestarday. The bike feels really good and the frame looks very nice indeed. I did couple of rounds around the shop so can't say anything about proper "outdoor" ride. So... I bought it:) I will get it within next two weeks:) I'm excited:)

I have the Triad 2.0 for a month and it seemed like a great bike. I was certainly very happy with it.

The scum bag that stole it was certainly able to evade capture by the plod whilst he had it. The caught him afterwards but unfortunately it looks like the bike had already been fenced.

I'd ditch the speed king tyres - they're super light and fast rolling but they're quite a specialist summer xc tyre - see if you can get something more allrounder put on...

I wouldn't ditch them, just get another pair. You need more then 1 pair of tyres really anyway if you plan on riding all year round.

Any recommendations? I'm not a "hardcore" biker - at the moment summer is coming and I'm gonna cycle mostly in Pentlands and Glentress. Altho - it is a Scotland after all so wet/muddy conditions are the most common:)

    Thanks!

I've been looking at these 'triad' bikes for some time and they seem to be really well specced. I tested the TRiad 1.0 and the as expected the SRAM gears shifted smoothly and quietly, the frame was really responsive, it seemed quite light so was a little lively but in all a really comfy ride, albeit over kerbs!
Decathlon sell a similarly specced bike but has X-9 throughout, but I'd rather buy from Edinburgh Bikes as they seemed more clued up and helpful.
