I have read some where here can't remember where, that some one sprays oil on the top seals of the forks after cleaning,
Now i want to find out about reasons for this, i can understand it may prolong the externa ruber life, but if it seeps through want this break down the grease interanlly on seals?
just wondering if people do this and there reasons

i got fox floats but it doesnt sound that good an idea to myself knowing what things like gt85 does to grease.. it would make more sense to apply a little for grease to me0

The User Manual referred to lubricating dust seals / tubes?, but I couldn't see any reference to what with.
GT85 seemed like the most appropriate thing I had to use, based on nothing much though!.. Couldn't "grease" be a bit sticky and 'heavy'?

i have some nice pace fork grease which is light and not to stickky, but thats why i posted here to double check, as some lubes and overyly rubber friendly either.0

I kinda think I understand about 'lighter' oils( oils?) breaking down/ thinning 'heavier' oils and grease in a coil-sprung fork.

The seals contain a foam ring, which whem wet with oil keeps the seal lubed. Also a little collects around the upper wiper. Don't use GT85 or WD40: use the same oil as in the fork, or teflon chain lube. And only alittle: apply to the stanchion/seal interface, pump the fork, wipe off excess.0

Thanks for the authoritative advice Supersonic.
I'm currently using Finish Line Krytech Wax chain lube. Can't see any reference to Teflon on the bottle, is this still OK?

Wax lubes dry off and flake thats the way they work to help keep chains clear, so i would say no,0

Dunno. Basic teflon lub is what most recommend.0

Fox recommend that you flick open the caps that hold the wiper seals in place by covering the folk with tape so you don’t scratch them (if you slip)and push a screwdriver in the gap under the seal holder and the wiper seal lifts out. Under the seal is a circle of foam, you add a little folk oil so its wet and push the seals back in.
They used to have a video on there web site of how to do this procedure, I will have a look tomorrow and see if I can find it and post the link.0
