Afternoon all
I have managed to line up a couple of oversees trips for this year (France, Probably the Pyranees) and Whistler) However I havent before had to take a bike on a plane.
Can anyone recommend a decent (cost effective) bike bag, for a Specialized Pitch Mtb, Im wary of weight in relation to a hard case and concerned about a soft bags protection.
Any sugestions greatly recived
(Im not going via T5 thank God otherwise I guess this worry is irrelevent coz i would never see my bike again...

I've got the brand-x bag. Very good. I think its the same price as the CRC bag now. I think they're basically the same bag anyway.

Im in the same situation as you and asked the guy that organises the hol in spain im going to what he recommended.
He just gets a cheap bike bag, puts pipe lagging round the frame, forks etc and cuts up abike box to reinforce the inside of the bag- says his bike has done many rounds with easyjet and has never come to any harm.
Thats my plan now anyway, bollox to paying nearly 300 quid for a rigid box.
I read on here before that alot of people just get boxes from their lbs and use them, atleast the baggage handlers KNOW its a bike and hopefully wont throw it around like a suitcase. Hope this helps, and have a good time in whistler, maybe next year......Get your dog off my lawn!0 -
