Newbie here, Been looking around for a long time now, have about £1000 Max to spend. I realy love the look of the above bike and it seems to have good kit on it. I live in York so am not to far from Dalby forest (which i hear is great) Any advice on this bike or does anyone own one ?

Regards
Sy

Had some very good reviews - I know that Steve Worland liked the one he tested. try and get a test if you can - its a long forked hardtail, you may prefer something a bit lighter and shorter for Dalby.

[dons stupid hat] it's a saracen! argghh!! [removes aforementioned hat]

look at the Marin Rocky Ridge for that price. But test ride whatever you can.

I must stop recommending my bike in every thread :)

i've owned several bikes and never tested any of them beforehand.

My Marin is a similar bike to the Saracen and I really like it. But that's just my preference.

Decide what you'll be doing on the bike before you let marketing crap pigeonhole you

I wouldn't buy one without testing - but being a tall girlie means I struggle to find bikes that fit me anyway. Still, even without that, £1000 is a lot of money to spend on something that might not fit!!!!
One day, I'm going to buy a cottage in a small village and become its idiot!

Check out this months mountain bike mag - I forget which one, as it is reviewed in there. I am thinking of getting the zen 2 ....
