group set upgrade

Hi all, I'm looking to up the spec on my 4 year old Scott Yecora. I will be useing individual brake and gear leavers. Most of the shifters on the market now are 9 speed so I will prob have to up grade to a 9 speed casset. What i want to know is will a 9 sped casset fit on my 8 speed hub or will i be looking at a new hub.

no problems as the freebodies are the same width.
