Afternoon,

Of riding (and work) with a broken collar bone at the moment and I'm getting really bored of sh!te daytime TV and messing on the internet!

Any recommendations for decent MTB dvds that I can get my hands on? I like all sorts of riding so anything with good riding will do the job.

Help a brother out before I go crazy :p

Cheers :)

Between the tape, Hypnosis, all the earthed box set, anti gravity

    plenty here http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Cate ... goryID=263
  • The New World Disorder films are great too, I prefer them to earthed as they are more 'film' orientated rather than event coverage.
  • Anybody seen Klunkerz? Dirt mag give it a good review, think that's a definate purchase :)

So was it the Meta you crashed?

It was my '08 Five that I crashed. First big ride on it as well so was proper annoyed to then spend a fortnight unable to ride it. You must be kicking yourself! lol

Dam the over-excitement of new bikes!
  • Glad I'm not alone in crashing a brand new bike lol

Yeah it was the 3rd right on my new Meta, only went for a casual friday afternoon blast. Had a couple of runs down the red DH line on Cannock Chase which went nice and smooth then binned it on a steep section I'd not ridden before but didn't look too out of the ordinary!

Anyway ordered a copy of Klunkerz because it sounds really interesting (loved the Dogtown skate film and got a feeling this has a similar vibe) and also the Hans Rey story coz he's one of my heros and has influenced me ever since I started riding back in '92, and the DVD was cheap :p

Those'll keep me going abit but keep the suggestions coming! My next hospital appointemt is the 9th April but then I've probably got another few weeks before I can ride again, gotta keep the enthusiasm up!

Here's a story to make you feel better - I used to work with a chap who was trying to make it on the DH Pro scene. He was due to go to the Alps with a potential sponsor. Went for a Warm up ride the weekend before at CwmCarn and binned it right near the top on his first run without even really trying - one of those classic zero-concentration, maximum fuck-up moments! He managed to break his wrist and dislocate his shoulder - thus canceling the trip. Doh!
  • Ouch, that's rotten luck! What happened next, did he get his ride in the end?

Dunno, he went to work for someone else soon after and never seen him since...
  • that's a shame, you win some, you lose some I suppose.

Anyway, went to my lbs yesterday and walked out with the Earthed box set and my other 2 dvds arrived today too. Watched Earthed 1 & 2 and Hans Rey's dvd so now I'm buzzing and even more p!ssed I can't ride :( Hospital next wednesday, hopefully the doc will tell me it won't be long til I can go play again.

  • Watched 'Klunkerz' today. I'd say if you're a mountain biker then you need to watch this film :) Watch this and I guarantee you'll never be bothered about riding the 'right' bike again. Reminds me of why I got into it in the first place as much of a cliche that might sound :)

Getting out in the hills and having fun, that's what it's all about

Disorderly conduct is another all time favourite of mine. :)

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
