Disc Brake Bleed Kits

Is it necessary to buy the bleed kits that are specific to the disc brakes you have got or can you fashion your own using stuff purchased from the likes of diy/motor stores.
I think my brakes need bleeding cos they are feeling a bit dodgy at the mo but I can't seem to find a kit for my Tektro Auriga Comps.
Any ideas?

I could be wrong, but i think most brakes apart from Avids can be bled with a generic bleed kit. Or as you say you could save a fortune by making your own bleed kit0

If you have a bleed nipple on the calliper all you need is a small piece of clear plastic tube and something to bleed the fluid into.0
