Nice toaster Prophet, and I must say a rather gorgeous kettle too! What's the 0-100°c time on that baby?

  • Thanks Blackspur for the interest, I find it depends on the Atmospheric pressure, high pressure and it takes longer as it is getting to around 105'C before reaching boiling point, lower pressure and it is quicker although only gets to around 95'C before reaching boiling point. I reckon it takes around 5 mins on the hob :( which is why we purchased the SantaCruz Blur version which plugs into the wall and takes around 2-3 mins. Please though, this is a serious thread about toasters lets not hijack it with talk of kettles (save that for another thread eh?)

The toaster holds only 2 slices which can be a pain if you want 4 at a time, But is chrome, has a black knob for the handle which makes the toast pop up if pressed down, a red flick switch for 1/2 slices (which my missus always leaves on 1 slice  , a tray that you have to remove manually which catches the crumbs and a basket thing for making toasty sandwiches which I have never used :? 2 slices! around 2 minutes!!

    Hope this helps?

Looks pretty nasty inside. Take some pride in your toaster. You wouldn't let your
bike get that bad. Would you?

people seem to be responding to this tread as if it is a joke! i take my toasting just as seriously as my cycling, and you all should too.

i have a standerd 4 slice thats very much vanilla in terms of features but an easily adjustable time dial and a quality feeling spring, along with the removable crumb tray ofcourse, makes for great toasted goods everytime.

hopefully i'll get a picture up here soon!

Dualit 6 slice comparable to a Hope Moto M6 caliper (really powerful) i.e the Daddy of toasters?

Grilling is to be saved for occasions of special importance unless it's cheese on toast of course ( Cornish Cruncher from M&S ) with pepper grated on 1st so that it melts into the cheese when cooked

Bikedevil we all know why you want toast for 10 students all at the same time don't we  problem is who can be bothered to get up and do it eh, eh :) MUNCHES :)

I think the Hope is probably cheaper lol. And shinier!

Grilling is good, anything that involves fire I like - especially toasting over embers.
