I've got several bike videos of some friends and i and want to put them onto one dvd to watch on the tv. what software's best? only found stuff for converting one avi file to one dvd disc to then be burnt using standard burning software...

My mate has been trying for ages through .ISO files or something, he hasn't had much luck.. I'd be interested to hear ways of doing it too.

    Try this one:

    http://www.brothersoft.com/free-movies- ... 65642.html

It's good and it's free and you can load up multiple files (chapters).

You need to convert the AVIs to VOB files. You can do this many ways. I have used Nero 8, though there are other burning software applications to do this. An easier way that will work with any burning software that doesn't encode to DVD is to use a program called Super converter. You can convert your AVIs to VOB file then burn normally to DVD. The Super converter download link is a bit of a sod to find on their page.

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

download adobe encore, this is a dvd building software, you can build menus and then burn them to DVD and they will work on all dvd players, 30 day free trail http://www.adobe.com/ap/products/premiere/encore/ . mutch easyer than converting file formats

    VSO Convertxtodvd

Bit of a mouthful to say but feed it an AVI file, it will convert it, allow you to create a custom menu and then burn to disc.
costs 30 quid but the best one i have used. also possible to get for free if you are prepared to use more "unorthodox" methods.

is free and did the job very well so i can recommend that one to schmako and anyone else interested. i'm not doubting the others but you have to pay for them (in theory) and if i can find a free (open source too) one then i'm more than happy with that. thanks very much all.
