Near misses include the usual dogs leaping up, and sheep hiding around the corner on hairpin descents, but have also had a near collision with a buzzard sweeping low in front of me, at head height.
And last summer, on a speedy long straight descent, I had a group like these suddenly come out of the woods and cross the road a few metres ahead of me.
