got a new bike three days ago, hybrid, have been cycling a 1980s mountain bike with cantilever brakes til now
wheels had to come off to get it home
nightshifts mean I'm only just getting round to getting wheels back on, brakes hooked up again etc etc
I see what I'm meant to do with these v brakes but I can't do it!
I'm scared I snap the brake cable if i force it! What's going on?
thanks

Squeeze the break arms together with the fingers of one hand, and flick the "noodle" into the retaining clip. Shouldn't require excessive force.0

Check outer cable is correctly seated at brake lever and any intermediate points. When the q/r is undone and there is no tension these can come apart and cause hassles when you try to re-seat the noodleroad0
