Does anyone remember that bike that all the kids had in the 80's, which had some rather fetching body kit and fancy sound FX, I've no idea what it's called now and searched google to no success. (It wasn't the raleigh, I came across that, it's nowhere near as cool).

I thought it was wolf something too, but still wasn't obvious in the google results. I'm not sure what a steethawak is, but it sounds bitching!

    Raleigh Street Wolf?

  • I'm sure my mate had one - I was always jealous as my mag burner didn't make any noises apart from me! Should that Street Wolf have a command centre on the handlebars somewhere?

Perhaps it was a raleigh? There is no sound FX box on this pic though?
  • I know you said it wasn't a Raleigh, but I still had to post this:

  • My mate used to have one - when we were small we took it to the BMX racetrack - I took it over a camel-hump and when I landed - well - you can guess the rest.

His 'mission control' smashed off and I still have scars on my left arm where I took ALL the skin off

Thanks for this thread - I had totally forgotten about James' Vektra (spl?)

  • Who remembers the Boxer and the striker (I had the boxer) little yellow thing - and if you were really cool you had the grifter......

My first BMX though was a Team Murray that weighed about 8 stone - full cromo but as it was yank it was hard to get parts to fit over here....

And how remembers the Raleigh bomber - sort of one of the first

The Raleigh Wildcat used to have a sound FX box on the handlebars.

Can't find any Google images but fairly sure about the name - first bike 8)

Sure it had a couple of other styling features and a huge padded seat!

This might be the one you were thinking of??
Current steed is a '07 Carrera Banshee X

  • They were cool, but then I got my Turquoise Raleigh Montage with 15 sis gears and then I was the cool kid on the block... 15 gears and plastic brakes and I thought I was John Tomac!

i had a boxer which i broke the front forks on going over the bars and smashing my gob up, moved onto a black chopper with kinda glittery effects on the chain guard. the chopper did some huge air and never broke, i also remember picking up a chopper and grifter in the mid 80's and remebering how they felt twice as heavy as my raleigh "super" burner at the time, ooo gotta go find a pic of my old burner now the gold one :)

you had the ultra? that's the one i wanted :P
