Changing light batteries

Hi all
I've been lurking for a while but finally felt the need to post!
I've got an old set of Cateye Halogen lights - RC 230 I think. My problem is the battery has no life left in it and dies well before an hour of use. I'm happy enough with the set up and brightness and have no money for a new decent set so wondered if I can change the existing pack for something that lasts longer?
I've taken the case that sits in my bottle cage apart and found a 6v lead acid battery inside.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks
- I have seen the Fenix but wanted to try this first!

I doubt cateye would still make them. Youd have to talk to your local lbs that sell cateyes and see if you can get one.
Even if you were going for a new set of rechargeables, im told Cateye arent bringing any of theirs in till this winter, and all their stocks of current ones have sold out. Might do best with a look on ebay.0 -
I was hoping I could wire a new better battery into it? The lights are 1 x 10w flood and 1 x 10w spot and are pretty bright so i'd like to keep them if I can!0
