Has any one experience of Ambrosio/ Novatech Hubs (I believe they are the same thing)
Harry Rowland recommends them over Record hubs.
Are they reliable, are they of comparable weight and do they have a noisy or quiet freehub?
Thanks for any info

if harry likes them ...they must be good
he builds wheels for a lot of "top jockeys"..including a lot of pro's ..
he built me a front wheel ( altho on a hope hub...) never needed to see a spoke key in its often hard life....
if you trust him top build you a pair of wheels ...take his advice..0 -
I've been running them for 6 months or so on my 'best' wheels and they are great. The freehub was almost silent when new and now makes a tiny bit of purring sound. I can't compare to record but I would be astonished if there was a difference that I could detect by riding (same would probably be true for any decent hub).0

Simbil, have you run them predominantly in dry conditions?
Do they have a grease port, and how do they compare weight wise to Record?
What spokes and pattern(s) did you go for?
Just curious, as I now have 2 pairs of handbuilts, neither on Ambrosio, but I have recently virtually toasted a pair of "all weathers" Campag. Ventos in 12 months!0 -
I use these a lot too. They have good quality cartridge bearings in them and you get them in silver or black with either Campag or Shimano splines.
The best thing for me is the flange spacing. It suits low pro rims like Open Pros etc.
They are cheap, easily serviceable, freehub bodies are available and the finish is good.
They are about 50g heavier than 2008 Record per pair.
No wonder Harry likes them too!0
