Has anyone quit drinking?

Giving up beer is the least of my concerns! I have recently stopped riding with some of my mates who regularly drank a four pack of lager every ride! They have now ceased to go out and turned to "other" vices! I don't drink in the week but like a few real ales of a weekend. I eat and drink what I like and still can't manage more than ten and a half stone at 33 years old! Bite me!Cannondale Prophet MX0

I had gut rot over the weekend so I didn't touch a drop of booze all weekend. Surprisingly despite the gut rot still being around this is the best I have felt on a Monday morning for quite a while. I think I'll stay off it for a while now and see how things go
The only thing is trying to get to sleep at night. It's not easyBeer, the reason my ambitions have not become my achievements0 -
I give alcohol up for the month of January each year. The only problem is I usually get given alcohol for Christmas. My 'drinks cabinet' currently contains 14 bottles of spirits including eight different single malts! Anyone thirsty? It's all good.0

Sadly I must continue to punish myself, I cannot allow the less disciplined of the weekend warriors into a pub without a chaperon. It's a struggle to drink a couple of pints of fine ale but I force myself, in fact my level of sacrifice never fails to surprise.

Steve, you're my hero!!
well, i'm not suffering and wanting a pint. I have been in the pub several times and no probs. the OJ and soda does me fine. I had that attitude of cycle to jeep the belly at bay but have decided to take the racing seriously this year  . watch this space, it'll save me a fortune toohttp://twitter.com/mgalex

I've just done my fifth dry Xmas on the bounce, as a 56-month-non-drinking alcoholic. Still really, REALLy, want one though.
Good luck to any who want a trip on the wagon.d.j.

Really glad someone else is going through this. If I am honest I bet I havent had a drink free week since Iwas 16 and Im 48 now. Decided to give up Jan 2 for the rest of Jan- so far so good. See how I feel then. Saturday night was the toughest call!
Good luck!0 -
