Is the Kona Cinder Cone (2005) a decent first bike for starting to get into MTB ?

There are quite a few better bikes for the equivalent amount of money for the Kona (seen it from £400+)

The forks on the Kona are not very good at all, undamped and will behave like a pogo stick!

How much do you want to spend on a bike?

    other than the forks....absoloutly beautiful........

shame ...n 2002 they were OK
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

This is possibly the best new bike for £200 (well £224) bike there is at the mo, the Carrera Vulcan...

As for the second hand market you do need to have a keen eye for the good stuff as well as the bad stuff.
