Avid BB7 Problem

I've just got some new Avid BB7's and i'm having a bit of a problem with the ammount of power.

They feel really spoungey and despite trying to get out the cable streach and everything else they just seem to lack power. I've seen uber-budget mechanicals with stacks more power. I don't think its a problem with the cable or lever because on inspection they both seem to be operating preportionally to movement.

Everyone has said that they are pretty good and comparable with hydraulics in terms of power so i'm kind of confused. I'm pretty sure I set them up right and they are properly beaded in but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers. :)

when you pull the lever is the disc moving?

you did read the set up info before fitting?

  • Read the setup info before I even brought the brake. :D

The disk isn't moving, but the caiper itself is moving slightly. Think all the bolts are correctly torqued.
