One, two, Cree.

Well, four, actually.
Just a wee look at my DIY Cree lightset. One battery with one lead, four MR16 led lamps, 1000 lumens for 12 watts. Not bad.
Almost as bright as my mate's 30w 14.4v halogen. Picture doesn't show it well, but the light is a nice blue/white colour. One bulb different from the rest. This was the first one I ordered but the others are all the same and more suitable.

Blimey that looks substantial!
The first pic isn't as bright as I thought it would be, but maybe that's the camera?
What was your total cost?

Do you run all 4 off the same battery?
If so, what battery and what's your expected burn time?0 -
The picture is rubbish in terms of reproduction. I actually noticed a big difference between my PC at work and home, the latter showing the light in a better, well, light. Don't be disillusioned by the forum picture.
Went flat out down a narrow wooded track last night, no problem. My friend uses one of my lamps (30w MR16 Master Line ES @ 14.4v) and the 4 Cree lamps are just about as bright and much whiter.
I make the lamps myself and sell these. Bulbs are about £12 each + shipping from Canada. Battery is a 4Ah 15.6v NiMh pack which I use to over volt my halogen lamps. Each lamp draws 3 watts so that's 12 watts in total form a 15.6v pack. This gives a theoretical 4 hrs.
Three Y cables ensure connection of all four lamps to one battery. Each lamp independently switched.0
