Any help welcome - I've got the bag of random bits of metal that come with them but no instructions and no idea what goes where.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

Loads of pictures here. I've not seen those with the kick up over the rear brake before. Symptomatic of short reach brakes and limited clearance. I have only the old flat Salmons (ref 13004 - the last ones shown) which go straight under the brake as other mudguards, but even here they take quite a bit of space.

So, some pictures, and may be enough to put you on the right track.
  • Sell them on and get a set of SKS, I Did!
Salmon are a pain to fit and mine kept working loose, however tight I did everthing up.

    One day you'll thank me.

I have a set of Salmon guards on my commuting bike that have been there since just after PBP 1983. They work fine, fit easily into tight spaces, and have been reliable for just over 24 years so far.

They are however a pain to fit - but you only have to do that once! You may find that drills, taps and files, etc, may be required to get them to fit 100% perfectly but IMO it's worth the effort.

As the guards are fairly thick alu, it's quite possible to modify them to take up less space if required; I did this on the second set I have, on a Specialized (made by Giant) Allez Epic CF I used for PBP 1991. No problems with that set either...
