Hi,
Im torn between both bikes at the moment and know little about biking. Am i right in saying that the GT has better brakes plus damping suspension which the hardrock doesn't.....
I will be using the bike for commuting to work but also for some offroad fun at weekends.
Looking to spend £300 - £400
Cheers

Yeh I already read that post, but nothing on the specialized. I did originally sway more to the hardrock but the GT seems to be the better bike for the same money. Went to Evanscycles and tried out the hardrock was really easy to ride but unfortunately they didn't have a gt 2.0 instore so i couldn't compare.0

I've got a GT Avalanche 1 which is the pikier version of the 2.0 and I love it. Unless you're in love with the need for a new shiny one, try ebay. worth a poke. got mine for just over £100Trek 8500 w/ Singlespeed Conversion - http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/1697041/

Hardrock wasnt mentioned because quite frankly I think its crap! Test it by all means, but is heavy, underspecced, and has undamped pogo sticks for forks.0
