Bike blues

Had to take bike in to be mended as it's poorly and I'm rubbish at mechs. Have to wait until next thursday to get it back. Feeling blue. even beaten up old MTB won't make up the difference. I realise I've become accustomed to aching thighs. Anyone any suggestions to make the gap less painful.

And please nobody mention that today was absolutely cloudless and windless and perfect in every way for a ride. Please.

Read up on bike mechanics and do-it-yourself, then you'll never have to leave it with the bike shop again and save yourself ££££
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Cheer yourself up by thinking it could be worse.

I've torn a back muscle, was paralysed by it at one point, now recuperating.
All I can do is watch the nice days go by, then go and sniff pathetically at the sight of the MTB and the road bike knowing I'll probably not get a ride for at least a month.

Speaking of 'rides' - even Jibi's solution might be too painful for a while.

Dobson, peruse the internet and drool over all the shiny new bike bling that you could buy yourself! Plan your next mega bike upgrade, always works for me :)

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!
  • I'm going to the gym which is just too horrible to contemplate. Horrible.

Good grief, how broken is it that it takes a week to fix? I'd use another LBS if I were you! or, buy a spare bike.

    Just been:

    4 x 8 bicep curls with 20KG dumb bells
    4 x 8 chest press (85kg)
    4 x 8 preacher curl with 17.5kg dumb bells
    4 x 8 chest flies with 15kg dumb bells
    3 x 7/7/7 "21s" with 12.5kg dumb bells (agony!)
4 x 10 incline chest pres with 20kg dumb bells
10 minutes rowing (2586 metres covered)

I'd still rather have decided between Nokon gear / brake cables or a new USE stem for my bike though

It's a pity, because today was a cloudless, windless day and perfect for cycling.
