get some gusset incas. cheap cheerful and grippy.
the thread you want is 9/16ths most bmx are that as well just make sure you do not get any with 1/2" fitting."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

BMX pedals aren't the same size axle as MTB pedals.
As for shoes, go down to your LBS, try some on, all manufacturers sizes vary, but one thing in your favour is your size, it's quite large, so you could find some bargains.
As for your brother, kick him in the nuts & tell him to keep his thieving hands off your money.0 -

Oh but they are. Take it form someone who does both
All 3 piece BMX cranks use 9/16th axle pedals. Only 1 piece BMX cranks use 1/2" axles and you'd be hard pushed to find a proper BMX with 1 piece cranks these days.
Anyway, my pedal suggestions would be either Odyssey Jim C's (magnesium if you have the cash) or DMR V8s / V12s.
I've used and abused loads of pedals and they're the ones that have lasted longest and felt the best underfoot.
Check here for loads of decent pedals...

Hi, sorry to hear about the money, if it's cheap shoes you want then Decathlon must be worth a try. Not the best looking shoe in the world, but they are excellent quality, mine from Decathlon are 6 years old and at their peak were doing approx 400km a week, and they're still goiong strong.
For pedals, you could have a look at BBB, I've used BBB in the past and quality is OK. In fact I'm due to get some pedals from them myself.0 -
i only asked if bmx was the same thread so i know if i can put my bmx pedals on instead. but i would really prefer a cheap pair of spds. and i dont mind if there second hand0

your bmx pedals might fit. its 50/50"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

how would i know i dont wanna fuck the thread up if its not i think my dad has a thread mesurer thingy. the pedals are standard mongooes ones if that helps0

dont worry you wont damage anything if you do try/ there is a big difference in diameter between 9/16 and 1/2 " eith they will fit and work or the threads wont touch the sides od the crank hole."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
