Creaking Saddle.

Ok here's the thing, creaks and squeaks drive me round the bend, for the past week i have had the most annoying creaking noise coming form what i thought was my head set, turns out to be my saddle, i have lubed the rails but it comes back after a couple of days
I have thought of putting grease on the rails but a little unsure as grease normally gets clogged with all sorts of poo, any ideas on a remedy, Cheers.

make sure the bolt is tight. from my experience it loosens quite quickly sometimes0

i finally managed to silence mine by dropping some drops of finish line wet lube onto the rails where they go into the saddle then left it upside down for an hour to work its way in, creaks hav'nt returned yet i also lubed the seatpost, all the parts that meet in the saddle rail clamp area and all the bolts with finish line teflon grease.
edit; i thought it was my headset too! weird how sounds on the bike sound from different places.0 -
I had the same annoying sounds the other week. Seperated the saddle from the post and really cleaned everything... Put it all back with a light coating of wet chain lube ( was out on the trail at the time ) and it STILL creaked! Finally sorted it by removing seat-post and clamp and cleaning clamp, seat-post and seat tube. All back together ( with lube ) and is now silent.0

Can i put regular grease on my seat post, there is some sort of grease already there but it's white (new bike) or is regular grease a no no for carbon posts only.0

Anyone know with regards to the grease on seat post, need this sorted for tomorrows ride0

happened to me - meant the splines on the stem-steat posts link had started to round and werent getting as much grip as they should have done - if this is the case replace.0

I use Wledtite Red Tefllon grease for most of my bike (including seatpost) - its pretty darn good and about £5 for a 150ml tube - the colour doesnt matter - pretty much all the same but always better to go with teflon based stuff0

Had this too. Sprayed GT 85 into the part of the saddle where the rails locate - back and front, left and right (i.e. 4 "ends")
This cured it. (like you, thought it was the BB)Whyte PRST-1 Works Special (+ carbon everywhere)

Remove the seatpost, clean it up. Clean inside the seat tube with a toothbrush wrapped in a cloth. Clean the saddle rails. Grease inside the tube and also around the rails where they meet the saddle clamp. Assemble it all again. Turn the bike upside down and soak the underside of the saddle with WD40 or equivalent. Tighten the seat clamp and the saddle clamp another final quarter turn each. Go cycling - in silence. Guaranteed.0
