Nice one! I really like the XC course at Fort Bill. Fingers crossed more riders will be taking on the tech section this year!

sky +, HD telly, You lot get payed to much  . I'll just get my dad to video it  .
    Hopefully it'll be good coverage.
  • Ok, it's great to see that BBC2 have 2 hours tomorrow - I will be in front of the tv for sure - but WHY, OH WHY, OH WHY no mention this week on Five Live.

This station is news / sport 24/7, they talk endlessly about football, rugby, cricket, formula 1 (is this really a sport??), tennis, athletics....they even talk quite a bit about rowing.

They talk about curling, the Tour de Drugs BUT NO MTB, even when Darren Fletcher get bronze - not a peep.

I've tried e-mailing them several times asking why no coverage - no reponse.

I like 5 live - it is my main station (along with Radio 6) - so I can't understand why when the Worlds are on these shores they ignore it.

How about a concerted e-mail campaign to the 5 live website pointing out their failings?

I don't expect "race coverage" but I don't see why a emntion of the results are beyond their capabilities.

ta for the link, not just for the photos but for the link on it to 606 ..... and a 5 live interview with Oli Beckingsale

They never give mtb a mention when I listen (and I listen a lot)

Nice one, will be watching that.

I've ridden at Fort Bill a couple of times, not on the DH course (I'm more of an XC/AM fan) so will be interesting to watch. Enjoyed my ride much more last time up there because I was on my own bike rather than a rental so wasn't worried as much about damaging it.

Will be interesting to see who the Beeb get to commentate add comments on it, hope it's UK riders who are familiar with the events rather than some random bod who's watched a couple of MTB DVDs.

On the TV, It sounded like a big crowd of arseholes at the finishline of the downhill though.
There's no need for a massive "booing" for Sam Hill and Fabien Barel.
All these riders deserve our support.
  • Well I thought it was good :)

Judging by what I saw though, my best chances of competing are, at 48, possibly behind me.

Brain Lopes was amazing! Very good to see some UK medallists too.

I hope that there is more coverage at Bejiing next year

maybe I should clarify, the crowd was booing them at the end when they were being interviewed.
  • Was it booing? or horns?

You may well be right in which case it's not good.

Maybe my hearing is failing with age........

I must admit sounded like booing at the DH interviews, certainly a poor show if peeps are doing that though. I thought all the riders put in good performances given the deteriorating conditions

It sounded like booing to me too, I wish they could have got more cameras - would have loved to see how Peaty lost his seat!
  • :( i missed it is its repeated anytime?
  • dunno

    you could try on www.mtbcut.tv
  • It was pretty good, especially the 4X, Brian Lopes was FLYING :D Bit disapointed with the brits performance, didn't even attempt to crank it out of ANYTHING  The XC was ok, pretty quick + 30 seconds on trials coverage :? Barely saw any of the dh track  But over all I'd say 7/10
