Advice needed on new bike troubles

Hi,
I've just got a new Specialised Rockhopper Disc. It's my first bike with forks and seems great, but I've got 2 little niggles I want to run past you folks to see if it's an issue or not.
First, The fork movement is very smooth when I move it by hand or stationary, but when riding, I feel a slight clunk when going over rough stuff. I've tried to rock the fork forward /back with the front brake on and there's no noticable play
Also, after about 30 miles, when I brake I am getting a juddering through the discs. THe discs aren't warped and if I brake soft or hard, there's no judder, just a judder at medium force. I wonder if it's soemthing that's playing up in the fork that's juddering.
Any ideas greatly appreciated please before I pop the bike into the shop.

The "clunk" could be a few things, but the first and easiest to check is the headset adjustment as it may have bedded in even if it was set up properly in the first place.
Hold the front brake on with one hand, put the finger and thumb of your other hand on the join between the upper and lower half of the headset, just below the stem. Rock the bike back and forward - any significant play here will certainly clunk a little on the rough stuff.
The brake judder could again be several things. You say the discs aren't warped, so it could be alignment or dodgy pads.
As Supersonic says, best bet is let the bike shop worry about it, and get it in ASAP to stop collateral damage if either problem is more serious.

THanks guys. I've booked it in for the free service. Checked headset play and it doesn't seem noticable. The guys at the shop don't seem to think it will do any damage riding in the meantime which is good as I'm hoping to get out Sunday afternoon for a good ride.0
