Hi all,
Recently got a Specialized Globe IG8 and a Stumpy Comp (2007) for wife and I.
Both very good and loving the Stumpy.
Oddly, I have a 1997 steel model too - Interesting to see how different they are!
New bike is super agile, climbs like a howler monkey, deals well with downhills and feels very very strong - love it!
Old one for comparison (upgrades include LX Hollowtech 2 crank, new tyres, Race Face stem, cassette, chain, etc, etc!)

Very nice indeed. It must be cool to have the same bike from 10 yrs ago too so u can compare and see how things have progressed in that time0

Jayson - It is indeed! Quite weird how much they have changed despite being the "same" model!0

Hmmm, what a good looking bike.
I have a stumpjumper comp (women's) from 2000. Its been a loyal and trusty steed. Superlight - infact someone once commented it was like a feather.0 -
Is - The old one is a steel framed version yet is still pretty darn light.
But I was rather shocked that the 2007 version with disk brakes and a pretty hefty fork is actually a fair bit lighter!
Think the old one will go on forever though - it's been jumped, crashed, dropped, etc, etc with barely a scratch on it!
Hope the new one lasts as well.0 -
Ive just bought a Hardrock Sport '07, will arrive on Wednesday, already own a Hardrock Sport which I bought in '95 I think, so again will be interesting to see how they compare but I guess the new version might as well be a completly different bike.0
