Here is a little something me and a few friends are working on... www.veogeo.com
The idea of the website is to allow people to upload their videos, and recorded GPS file for their ride - then watch and share them through the website...

Here's downhill run:

And some more rides listed here:
http://www.veogeo.com/Search.aspx?term= ... tegories=3
(Not just mountain biking either - skiing, driving, tourism etc)

Let me know what you think! All feedback is welcome.

You are able to join up and upload your own activities - so please go ahead. All you need is a GPS that can log tracks and a video camera.

Cheers!
Brad

As baccaman21 says, the first link is broke. Plus I couldn't get the Google Maps embedded vid to work. Gave up after five mins.
  • Sorry - the post seems to have cut off the links...

Just go to www.veogeo.com and have a look around anyway.
You need a Flash player installed.

    I'll try the link again:
    http://www.veogeo.com/PlayVideoActivity ... ivityId=21

If you are on the browse page, click on a marker and a pop-up box should come up. It will have a link to view the activity in a new webpage.

Good luck! Happy to answer any more questions!

Hot linking breaks the video and graph in the corner. You need to copy and past the link into your address bar or navigate to it from the front page.

Seems like a great idea but ultimately its going to live or die on user content and I don't think there is enough people out there with cameras willing to film their trails.

Retried the link and it worked!
Great idea! it's like Google Earth, Google Maps, and a pinch of Memory Map getting together with YouTube :) Pity the vids not better quality, still it's impressive.

Now then, where's my helmet cam? ooo that's right I haven't got one. Maybe I could sellotape my mobile phone to my forehead.......
