Just pulled into Richmond on me houseboat, and went for a spin in the park this morn . Holy sh!t it was like a sportive!

Was it just cos it was sunny? even so when I was last there on a weekend morn, four years ago, it was nothing like that. Cars well outnumbered, and thanx to the new 20mph limit I even overtook a few on the flat!

Some serious speed demons there too!

I think there is a regular organized Saturday ride there.
Can't beat the open country though – fewer cars for a start.

I think the 20mph limit has been there for a while - it only really made the news when they started enforcing it for cyclists a while back (they rarely enforce it for cars, of course).

For me, too many cars for it to be real fun - but as you say, it's nice being able to go fast across the top of the park - near-on 40mph and leave cars that overtook you when you were riding at 20mph in your wake.
