Hi Folks,
I am just back into Mountain Biking following recent additions to the family and have splashed out on a Rockhopper Comp, I have been riding the trails in Chatelherault and been to Carron Valley and Glentress and was wondering if anyone knows of any other decent local rides.
Also, if anyone in the area fancies meeting up let me know

There's double and singletrack running through two areas of forest to the east of Wishaw, just above Forth. Check the OS map for Kingsmill and Woodmuir plantations. The map doesn't, however, show the new wind farm at Auchterhead Muir This overpowers much of the greenery around it but the area is worth exploring. There are many more tracks than shown. You can get an idea of what's there from Windows Live Local. Use the hybrid view and check out the farm road entrance to the forest south of Allanton - via Auchterhead Farm (OS 870553). The tar stops there to make way for a network of paths, tracks and coo runs!
