Hi guys,

I ordered some of these a few weeks ago but I am getting fed up of waiting for them, Chainreaction keep saying due in xx/xx/07 but when that days comes it ends up being 5-10 days.

Can anyone suggest a shoes as good/better etc or is it a case of worth waiting for them?

It's worth waiting for them, if you ride flat pedals then 5:10s are the best shoe to get in my opinion.

I think Marzocchi make similarish shoes with the grippy rubber soles too but I'm not sure how they compare.

Cool, I have just ditched SPD's due to ankle ligament trouble and gone for V12's. Looks like i will wait then.

They're the best shoes ive ever had. The marzocchi shoes are basically rebranded 5.10's the soles are the same, or they were when they first came out.
"This is ******!, We can't ride out bikes in the dirt like this!"
  • Better than waffle-soled vans?
    Nah. 8)
    Wheelies ARE cool.

  • Er, yah?
    Waffle's grip, 5tens actually stick.
Shut up. And ride your bike.

    Shoes are amazing!

Only difference I really noticed with SPD's was the fact I couldnt pull the pedals on uphills.

  • What is the sizing like as far as you can establish - ie: does a size 9 shoe feel like a size 9 shoe in other shoes - I only ask because just checked my Shimano spd shoes and they are a size 12, which obviously fit - when every other shoe I own is a 9-10! I know people say that the Shimano are often 'small' for the size - just wondered if these were the same. Trawled all the local shops and no one stocks them, so will have to be an internet punt.

I am a size 11 and I got size 11 five tens and they fit great and are really comfy!

Some reviews said they were on the small side so i almost went for 11.5 but thought that it may just be a breaking in period so went for 11.

5-10s are awesome shoes for mountain biking, they blow away any skate, bmx or riding shoe i have used over the years

I have the Sam Hill model as i could not get the black High Impact 2 for months....

however, I would not recommend 5-10s for slopestyle or dirt jumping as its hard to slip the pedals for tricks

I went to the airdome in Whistler last week and wore my DC skate shoes as I was finding it hard on the trails in the Bike Park to slip my feet for tricks

if you are riding gnarly, rocks, rooty trails then the 5-10s will help keep your feet in place
