Hi,

I'm going to this place near Cheltenham weekend after next:

Does anyone know some good rides to do round here? Fairly intermediate skill levels. Would be looking for 10-15 mile trips. Nothing too hardcore.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Cheers,

Fred

  • There is a well known mountain biking area at Leckhampton, a short drive from Cheltenham. Or if you want something a bit further afield you could visit the Forest of Dean.

[EDIT] If you visit the Pedalabikeaway centre you can get a map for £2.99 which shows forest trails from 10 miles to 35 miles and everything in between. There is also a small skills area, plus the FODCA trail (see above) and an extensive dedicated mountainbiking area.

    They also do hire.

I'm a Cheltenham rider. I'm around for the next couple weeks although how much riding I will be doing is unknown. Just drop me an email if you fancy a ride at some point.

Cleeve Hill is excellent for XC (althought the best descent on the hill is in tatters after the weather). Plenty singletrack fun to be had. It can be pretty techy in some areas and fast/flowing in others.

Or you could hook up with the Cheltenham Cycle club.

I'll see you at the end.

You'll see me on the floor.
  • All sounds good guys. Cheers for the help.

  • Yeah a little late, the ride was on Saturday ;)

We ended up doing a mainly off-road route in pouring rain. Was pretty cool :)

Shame as where you were staying is very close to cleeve hill.

On the link you sent, is you zoom out so the scale shows 2000ft/500m, cleeve hill is there on the left
