Need new cranks and pedals. A bit lost.

I appear to have stripped the thread of one of my crank arms, the pedal just fell off mid-ride (on a flat section, luckily). It doesn't stay in any more. I've been told that I'd better get some new pedals and cranks. I'd like to spend less than £50, but I don't have much of an idea of how much this will cost. I've looked around on ebay and a few websites, but I don't know what I'm looking for really. The prices vary. Any recommendations? I've currently got Truvatic comp G cranks, which look a lot like this:

I can't find a picture of the Comp G. That one's got the same sort of fitting and shape. Oh, pedals. The ones on the bike are just stock giant resin pedals. I'm just looking for flats, because the bike came with toeclips which really annoy me. I only use them uphill, then they bash against stuff all the way down. And I don't fancy buying another pair of shoes for clipless pedals. Thanks.

  • This was a bit pointless, because someone just answered most of my questions in another thread. Still looking for a cheap crankset though.
