This one doesn't make me look at it much, but that might be a good thing!

    there are alternatives you know…

 It'd be better here if people just got on with making it good instead of muttering about alternatives and poaching members. I have no intention of registering somewhere else so I resent it when people come and try and suggest members from here move to CC. Every member who leaves means less input here. The format here is different but its now fine and functional so its just a case of making it lively, then we'll get back to what it was like when it was C+.

If you have found somewhere else that suits you better then fine. But don't go on about it over here. Please.

  • hardly functional when you can't get straight to page 20 on a thread, but have to mess with the settings.
it may be beta but something like that should work, and it never has on my pc.

Well. Why not go suggest it to admin in the forum entitled 'Discuss the website with the team'.

Out of interest, what is it that is allowed to not work in a beta version?

Well I've learned a lot from the mtb guys. Especially in the health and fitness section. And that's clearly because it's new people offering new experiences. And that's what I want.

You don't want to hang out with the same type of people all the time do you? That's what families are for!

I don't find it bad to be honest. The way I've always used the forums is pretty basic anyway so I'm not missing any of the features other people are moaning about, and bad aspects that did annoy me have either been solved or I've got used to them. I can't really see why people are saying its difficult to use now most of the early issues have been ironed out. Ifwe're being honest I'm sure we'll all admit it ain't what it used to be at the moment, but it ain't worth crying off elsewhere about. Its the input that counts mostly, everyone can get used to a new format....I'd have thought.

All the other bits of the site are pretty good now too. Classifieds with pics, news etc. All good.

poaching? there's nothing to stop you visiting cyclechat and bikeradar and getting the best of both worlds. if someone doesn't like it here it's hardly going to matter if they go elsewhere now is it?

fwiw this place has improved, hence my dropping in from time to time.

  • May I suggest that one of the reasons this place has got better in recent weeks it the much smaller number of threads like this covering old ground?

Well I dunno. I just find it a bit annoying when people suggest members move elsewhere. I can't be arsd to be registered at more than one place so from a personal point of view I'd prefer it if all the expertise and opinions (and random guff!) were in one place....here. When I see posts that seem to be suggesting members go elsewhere I feel a bit robbed of those expertise and opinions (and random guff). Especially when the reasons for going elsewhere don't seem that strong.

This particular annoyance is a consequence of there being postings missing between the old and new forums. Not that you care about that (and rightly so ); you just want it to work. Us too. We'll keep pestering the development team to fix it.
