What do ya think?
That front brake cable could be dangerous dude.0 -
How?0
-
The cable is usually cable tied to the forks (around the arch), this stops it flapping about and snagging on something, which will result is you on your arse and the cable needing to be re-attached. its a safety thing....just out of curiosity..how tall are you? and what size is your bike?0

Ok thanks for your concern. Im 5ft 11 and i think my bike has an 18" frame. My Bike is in for a free service at the mo and im going to go and pick it up later as it is done. Perhaps they will have sorted out my brake cable. Thanks for telling me anyway.0

Tip, i would raise the seat, i'm guessing you are riding with pretty bent legs when seated (uphills are hard work? when sitting down), you will find it easier when pedalling if your legs extend more..rule of thumb..sit on saddle with pedal at its lowest point, place heel on pedal and raise your seat until your leg is straight (but not stretched), this should leave you with correct saddle height (you should have a slight bend in your leg when pedal is at its lowest point and you foot is correctly positioned)...i'm same height (32" inside leg)and ride an 18" frame..believe me it will make a difference...take a look at my pic to see what i mean regarding saddle height. Or check out the info on this site regarding correct riding position etc.0 -
Yeah i have raised my seat since this picture was taken. I know what you mean though, its now at the perfect height. Thanks anyway.0
-
Yeah, I noticed the seat height, but I just assumed you were a short ar*e. The cable could even snag on your tread.0
-
nah i just hadnt adjusted the seat then. now it is fine.0
-
So i need to cable tie the brake cable to the arch on the fork yeah?0

You need something like this,
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/MPart ... 360007956/
attach it to your forks then clip your hose into it,0 -
i could just use normal cable ties to tie it to the fork arch though couldnt i?0
-
Yes, just don't pull it too tight, just nip it up so the cable tie doesn't move.0

Yh kl. thanks for the recomendation anyway.0
