Society is like a stew. You have to stir things up now and again otherwise the scum will rise to the top.

Only got it on Saturday so I can't tell you much.

I've ridden road bikes for years and always think with bikes that you pretty much get what you pay for so I just set a budget and picked the one I most liked the look of.

I took it round Whinlatter in the rain on Sunday - so it's nowhere near as gleaming now! - and had a really fast smooth ride. I was approaching rocky sections that I didn't really know how to get over so I just picked a line and let the bike go where it wanted and it got me through pretty much unscathed. Dabbed a foot down a couple of times and fell on my arse once on an uphill hairpin a 5mph when I spun my back wheel - bit wet and stoney is my excuse.

Don't know if that's any help but I think it's a great bike, well built, looks the business and is well worth what it cost.

If you've any specific questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

Had my Specialized Hardrock for six years now and have upgraded quite a bit to make it a half decent bike for my use. Great for trails but a little skittish downhill (that may be down to my skills though).027.jpg[/img]
• I got the new seasons Specialized Rockhopper Expert 2009. Got the Rock Shox Recons and some Avid Juicy 4 brakes. I thought Avid only did Juicy 3,5 and 7, does anyone know anything more about this, is the Juicy 4 something new for 09 or is it something common that I've just always looked over. 09rockhopperexpertdisc.jpg
