Wheel bearings

I've an 06 Stumpjumper. Mrs has an 03 Extralite F2.
Turn them belly up and spin the wheels and hers spins and spins forever. Mine grinds to a halt after 20 secs. Axles are fine and both bikes just been serviced. Do bearings really make that much difference (I've heard hers are ceramic?)
If so can anyone recommend some top notch bearings for ther stumpy, they cant be hard to press out / in

what hubs?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
Specialized FH M525 rear - specialized STOUT front ??0

Thick grease and tight seals can slow the hub down, as of course can incorrectly adjusted bearings. Spinning forever is not actually that good a thing, as the bearings may not be correctly preloaded - when weight is applied it may wear them even quicker.0

If a feeling that both of those hubs have cup and cone type bearings, not the press in cartridge type like Hope hubs.0

Is that bad?0

What are her exact hubs? As above, the type can make a difference, as can adjustment.0

They just say HOPE. Cant see anything else0

The bearing should have the number written on the side of it, then its just a case of ordering another set from a supplier. They can be drifted out with sockets and a mallet, some good guides on the web.0
