Lighter wheels?

I have hand built open pro / ultegra hubs / 28 spoke wheels on my road bike, which weighs 18lb in total. (Ridley compact with 34/50 cs and 12-25 block) I weigh 147lb

I am weaker than I would like to be, and would like to climb big hills easier and faster

Would upgrading to some light factory wheels, eg Easton Ascent II at a quoted 1,419 gm per pair be likely to make a significant difference to me?

Thanks

Well, they'd probably give you a bit of a boost when climbing and you weigh the right amount to be a climber, but it sounds like you're looking for a quick fix and there are no quick fixes when it comes to climbing. If you want the wheels, I'm sure you'll enjoy them, but you might be better off spending the cash on a trip to somewhere with mountains...
