Hey all going to Afan in september and the tyres i have now are just bolt standard and are proun for punctures jst going over a tiny little thorn or a tiny piece of glass. Any one recommend a tyre which is thick to stop pathetic punctures and have a nice bit of tread but still in the xc genre i have about 50-60 quid for two tyres. any ideas??

Cheers

Could spend your £50 on a Stans No Tubes conversion kit. It would solve all your puncture problems.
    S-works Stumpjumper FSR

I'll see you at the end.

apart from the two new tyres they'd have to buy anyway..

it depends on your ride style really, tray some panaracer XC pros (2.0 ir bigger) or their trail blasters for wetter conditions

they're not overly expensive and i'd expect some left over to buy some spare tubes

I'd say either Panaracer Fire XC Pro's or Cinders.

Best i've used in terms of puncture resistance.
