Broken Wrist

I broke my wrist 5 weeks ago whilst mountain biking. Just got my cast off yesterday and it's obviously stiff and very sore.

Strange thing is the doctor didn't x-ray it or even examine it, he just asked me to squeeze his hand and sent me off on my way.

So I'm not sure if i should put it in a support whilst i gain some movement in it, stay off sports for another week, or go straight back into it. Also, is there any exercises I should be doing to help get full movement back?

Any help would be appreciated.

Scott.

Dude, did you trace that, from a distance off a diagram drawn by a blind man using his feet from the description given to him by someone that could only use English quotes from the movie of \'Grease\'?

stay off the sports and keep it in a support. try to lift small weight to get bit of strength back into your wrist before you go and do any sports

Mountain biking pounds your wrists and you'll need to build up the muscle again before riding, otherwise it'll just sprain. You don't really need to do any exercises for this, just everyday use will be fine. You'll know when its built up, when I broke mine it took about 2-3 weeks.

Also, talking from experience, your wrist will ache for months to come from MTBing as well.
