First post on BikeRadar..! Better keep this one on-topic lest it get locked...

How about having another go at attempting to get to the Eildon Hills, seeing as nobody managed yesterday?

There's some technical rocky bits I'd like to have a go at, so would be bringing armour!

Our village had flash-flooding late yesterday afternoon and it turned into quite a surreal, drunken evening as holes were made in walls and ditches were dug in front gardens... and then the beer came out!

Saz, Nick, Moray, Dave - anyone else?

Yeh,I'll be up for that Andy. Either day, whatever suits others. Thinking I might take dog for a walk up there tonight so if you never hear from me again, assume its MUDDY!! ( and I've been buried alive!)

When were you thinking of, Andy?

I'm easy - don't have any plans as yet for the weekend.

Just got a text from Saz saying that she was in the Eildon Hills and listening to her favourite bikey song (The Cardigans; 'Favourite Game' - good choice!) and wishing she had her bike with her!

AlanK - you certainly seem to have a variation on the Midas Touch..!

Wasn't much muddier than when we went Andy. A lot easier walking up but once I got to the top I was cursing I'd forgot my magic spell that turns a Border Collie into a Mountain Bike!!!! :)

    Funny, Andy.

How come you lot don't have 'wmb' after your old WMTB forum names?

Although seems like Hamish has had some transfer issues...

Of course I know who you are - I was only playing hard to get!

I've lost my post count, apart from that no complaints really.

How are you doing - back on the bike yet?

If this is gonna be on the Saturday then I could be tempted to join you as I don't fancy a trip to Mabie on my own!!! and non of the other NE lot seem to be playing, all saving themselves for the Lakes on Sunday.

Yup - Saturday would be good for me, especially if it means Dr Death can come along.

Take it you've never been past Melrose, Dr Death? There's an awful lot of fun to be had in quite a small area - and some surprisingly technical wee bits, too. Shouldn't be too hard for you to get too I guess - straight up the A68 from the NE.

No, never been but should only take an hour or so to get there. If it makes it difficult for everyone else though don't stress about the day, I'll find something to do....

Sorted - I'll certainly be there; hopefully we should be able to persuade at least one or two others! Will have a look at the OS map when I get home and suggest somewhere to meet, park, faff about and then ride from. Can do some of St. Cuthberts way to get there - would provide some 'warm up' before getting to the hills themselves.

Will PM you my mobile number.

    Say, 11am?

Still trying to tempt others along - Saz sounded a bit more interested when I said you were planning on coming up, and I can pick her up on the way down.

Fancy joining us tomorrow then, seeing as you live in Melrose?

Not a clue about the Golspie trip, I'm afraid. I'm sure it will resurface sooner or later - either here on MTB Scotland.

Forgot to say - meeting place is a car park in front of some offices/school.

I know... can't believe that there isn't a 24hr supermarket at which she could've bought flapjack ingredients near her...

Ace ride today! Thanks to Andy for putting up with my pathetic girly strop this morning ( felt well rough and the prospect of changing two tyres was a bit beyond me! ) and dragging my sorry ass up the hills! Couple of pics ( taken with my phone)

Went to the Buccleugh Arms for tea and scones after! Ace day. :D

Next time Saz says this it means the pools of water have not yet developed tides.....
