Quicky about cassettes

Are 10sp 105 and 10sp Dura Ace cassettes interchangeable? Off to the Alps in August and want to take the 105 12-27 block off my Tricross and put it on my Road bike which is currently DA 12-25. Running a R700 Compact on the front.
Also, do I have to swap the whole cassette or can I swap just the last two sprockets. Infact, can I buy the last two Dura Ace sprockets separately? Really don't want to spend œ80 for a week's riding.
OK not such a quicky, sorry[:D]

Beware the splines on the Dura Ace block are different depth to those on the Ultegra and 105 Cassettes. I bought Dura Ace wheels and was horrified to find that only the Dura ace cassette would fit. (That is until my good friend with a lathe turned down the splines on the freehub [;)])
It'll probably come down to the make of wheels. THe freehub on the Dura Ace wheels is Aluminium so I guess they've made the splines deeper for strength? If the free hub is steel, then the splines may well be shallower to accommodate both types of Cassette.
Not a definitive answer, but something to be aware of.0 -
It's a big design improvement on the Dura Ace cassettes and it will probably be introduced through the range. I've got the 7400 series Dura Ace with steel freehub - still perfect, but I've also got some Hed Jets with Hope Titanium hubs which are showing some 'pitting' where the sprockets catch the splines - it's a case of the harder sprockets wearing the softer body !0

I thinking of getting a spare larger cassette as well, its a Veloce cassette, ho easy is it to do with Campag?
If I had a baby elephant, who would take it for walks?

Changing a cassette is easy enough, you just need to make sure that what you buy is compatible with what you have. As long as you have 9sp or 10sp Veloce there are no compatibility issues with cassettes though.
