Hi i have just recieved my Giant scr 2.0 but i am having struggling with the gear change at the rear. The chain skips before it goes into gear, this usually happens whilst going up the gears. Also the front mechanism needs to be trimmed quite a lot to stop the chain rubbing the guard after a gear change.
Any advice on how to rectify this problem would be great thanks.

Take a look at this -

It's a useful site to have in your favourites.
  • the rear mech will probably only need the barrel adjuster at the rear of the mech screwing out several turns. Don't start fiddling with the screws as they 'might' be in the correct positions, and its more than likely a cable tension issue

Did it come through the post?
If so check the rear deraileir hanger isn't bent / mech damaged.
Easily done when slinging the box into a van by the caring courier company.

Thx guys, the park site is very good. I have tried the barrel adjuster and it seems ok at the moment but i think i will also adjust the barrel at the rear of the mech as steve austin said.
The bike came through the post and fortunately nothing is bent.
